Why can't people just say, "Woah, AI lets me do crazy new stuff I couldn't do before. While it's super exciting, I've no clue how this will change the way we work or how my job, as it's defined now, will evolve. It's such an amazing time to reinvent myself. Let's figure this out."

Simple.

But no. Many have decided to sell you the idea that you're going to lose and they're going to win.
